ASSESSMENTS FOR CIVIL LITIGATION

Dr. Goldenson is retained as an expert in civil litigation cases for both plaintiff and defense counsel. She engages in psychological assessment of adult plaintiffs and is frequently retained to assess the harms from allegations of historical childhood abuse and sexual assault. She is also engaged in other trauma-related personal injury assessments.

ASSESSMENTS FOR CRIMINAL MATTERS

Dr. Goldenson is typically retained by criminal lawyers, immigration lawyers, employers, the Children’s Aid Society, and other third parties to address a broad range of referral questions including but not limited to an assessment of the accused person’s general mental health, mitigating factors, and risk to re-offend (criminally, sexually, or violently).

Insurance companies, employers, regulatory bodies and counsel also retain Dr. Goldenson for disability assessments and to assess fitness to practise in a given profession.

CONSULTATION AND TRAINING SERVICES

Dr. Goldenson offers consultation services to legal professionals who are looking to have another expert's evaluation and report critiqued. These services can also include assistance in the preparation of cross-examination questions designed to highlight vulnerabilities in case conceptualization and deviations from best practice. Dr. Goldenson also offers consultation to other psychologists and mental health professionals who are engaged in forensic assessment practice.

In addition, Dr. Goldenson also offers professional workshops focusing on a wide variety of forensic topics in the civil and criminal realm. Her presentations have been described as dynamic and engaging and she endeavours to offer materials that balance strong conceptual and theoretical foundations with pragmatic applications of course content.
